Find what you need
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Ciberpioneros, LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, United States, which operates jjgarrido.com.
For privacy questions or requests concerning your data, email [email protected] and include “Privacy” in the subject line.
2. What data we use and why
Contact inquiries
We process the name, email address, and message you enter to respond to inquiries, receive suggestions, and consider proposals.
Messages are sent to our email account. The contact form module does not store a copy of the message in the WordPress database; the email system and its backups may retain it.
Please avoid including passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.
User accounts and comments
We process registration information, such as your username and email address, to manage your account, provide access, and enable your participation.
Published comments and the associated public name may be visible to other people. The email address used to register is not displayed as part of the comment.
IP addresses and technical browser information may also be processed to moderate comments, investigate abuse, and protect the site.
Newsletter
We manage subscriptions using Listmonk, hosted on our web server in Germany.
We process your email address, the information you provide when subscribing, and the information needed to manage your subscription and preferences. You can unsubscribe using the link in our messages or by contacting us.
We measure email opens using a tracking pixel included in the emails and clicks using tracking links. We use these statistics to assess the reach and usefulness of our publications. Image loading and email clients’ privacy features may affect open measurements; a recorded open does not guarantee that the message was read. This measurement is separate from the site’s browsing cookies.
This site’s newsletter is available at newsletter.jjgarrido.com.
Creating an account or sending an inquiry does not, by itself, subscribe you to the newsletter.
Operation and security
Hosting and email systems may log technical information, such as IP addresses, dates, requests, browsers, and errors, to provide the service, diagnose problems, and prevent misuse.
3. Our legal bases for processing data
Where European data protection law applies, the legal bases for processing depend on the purpose:
- Your consent, for the newsletter and optional technologies that require it.
- Providing the service you request, to manage your account and participation, or respond to inquiries before entering into a contract.
- Our legitimate interests, to respond to other inquiries, moderate the community, and protect our systems, taking your rights into account.
- Compliance with legal obligations, when we are required to retain or disclose particular information.
You can withdraw your consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
4. Services involved
Hosting and email. We use Unitydatos services, with infrastructure in Germany and the United States. Messages submitted through the form use the email server quantum.unitydatos.com.
Listmonk. The newsletter application is hosted on our infrastructure in Germany. Sending messages also requires email transport services.
YouTube. When we include YouTube videos in our publications, that external service is involved. When an embedded player loads, YouTube may receive technical information and process data under its own terms and our consent settings. The fact that a video belongs to us does not remove YouTube’s involvement. You can read the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Search Console. We use its reports to understand the site’s presence in Google search results. We do not use Google Analytics.
We may disclose information when necessary to comply with a legal obligation or respond to a valid request from an authority.
5. Analytics and cookies
We use Umami to understand visits and use of the site. We do not use Google Analytics.
Umami is hosted at umami.unitydatos.com, on Contabo infrastructure in Germany managed by Unitydatos. We use it for visit statistics, such as pages viewed and where visits originate. We do not use it to identify users by name or email address, and we do not record sessions. Its standard tracking code does not use cookies.
The site may use cookies necessary for user sessions and local storage for preferences, such as light or dark mode. Details of the technologies used and their controls are explained in the Cookie Policy.
6. Where information is processed
The infrastructure we use is located in Germany and the United States. Some external providers may also process information in other countries.
Where rules on international transfers apply, those transfers must rely on a valid mechanism and the appropriate safeguards. You can request information about transfers affecting your data and the applicable safeguards by contacting us.
7. How long we retain data
We apply retention criteria according to the purpose:
- Inquiries: for as long as necessary to respond to them and manage follow-up or potential liabilities.
- Accounts: while they remain active and for additional periods needed for legal or security reasons.
- Comments: while they remain published or are needed for moderation and handling complaints. Closing an account through My Account deletes the comments associated with that account; other people’s replies are retained. Accounts that require our team’s review are handled through contact requests.
- Newsletter: while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may retain minimal information to respect your choice and document how the subscription was managed.
- Visit statistics and newsletter measurement: for as long as needed to assess site and campaign use and handle relevant requests.
- Logs and backups: for the periods needed for security, recovery, and maintenance.
Deletion from active systems may not coincide with immediate removal from backups, which follow their own retention cycles.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or portability of your data, as well as object to certain processing and withdraw your consent.
Email [email protected]. We may request the minimum information needed to verify your identity and protect your data. Do not send identity documents unless we ask for them.
You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority where applicable.
9. Third-party and affiliate links
If you visit an external website through a link on JJ Garrido, processing there is governed by that website’s policy.
Affiliate links will be identified when introduced. Before integrating associated tracking technologies, we will update the relevant information. Our own affiliate program is not part of the launch.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our services or processing practices change, stating the new date. Where applicable, we will notify you of significant changes or request your consent again.

Form protection and abuse prevention
We use Cloudflare Turnstile in the contact form to check requests and reduce spam and automated submissions. When the check loads, your browser connects to Cloudflare, which processes technical signals such as your IP address, browser and connection information, and the site’s identifier. Cloudflare uses these signals to detect bots and improve its detection service.
Our server verifies the result of the check before sending the message. This integration does not send your name, email address, or message content to Turnstile’s verification API. We also limit submission frequency using identifiers derived from the IP address and email address; these records do not contain the message text and are not used to build advertising profiles.
Cloudflare is an external provider, and processing of these signals is not limited to our server in Germany. Further information is available in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Questions about processing carried out by this site can be sent to the contact email address given in this policy.
