Hi, I’m JJ Garrido. My complete name José Javier Garrido. A technology consultant, builder, and lifelong explorer. I’ve been tinkering with computers since DOS, floppy disks, and Windows 3.1. That same curiosity still drives everything I do today.
I explore, test, and build across multiple technology fronts: server infrastructure, industrial telecommunications, IoT systems, AI tools, and open source platforms. Every day I’m hands-on with new devices, new platforms, and new ideas. What works, I document. What doesn’t, I document too.
I run Ciberpioneros, a technology company focused on IoT solutions and industrial technology distribution for the Latin American market, with Teltonika as a core partner.
Through this site, My Lab, I share what I discover in real time: field tests, tool reviews, infrastructure experiments, and honest takes on where technology is heading, including my ongoing focus on quantum computing and post-quantum security ahead of the critical 2027-2028 window.

I’m based in Colombia, Catholic by conviction, and passionate about science at the intersection of faith and reason. I visited NASA in Houston and those experiences deepened a lifelong obsession with space exploration and cosmology. I write about my conversion journey and faith on my Substack, Doubt to Fire.
